RFID Technology Applied to the First Firefighter Personal Protection Cleaning Center

 

Under the guidance of the Guizhou Provincial Fire and Rescue Corps, the Guiyang Fire and Rescue Detachment combined with the actual situation of the team to address the problems of "difficult cleaning, difficult maintenance, and low safety factor" at the grassroots level. With reference to current international standards, a cleaning center of international standards has been built to fully protect the occupational health and safety of firefighters. The cleaning center is located in the training base of the Guiyang City Fire Rescue Detachment. It is a professional infrastructure that integrates testing, cleaning, maintenance, and maintenance.



It is reported that after firefighters' personal protective equipment is used, it will be contaminated with a large number of toxic and harmful liquids and solid particles. Long-term contact will harm the skin and respiratory system and affect the health and safety of firefighters.



The cleaning center adopts internationally advanced special washing equipment, washing technology, detergent and special maintenance management software for fire fighting clothes, combined with big data equipment IoT technology, and attaching RFID electronic tags to fire fighting clothes, rescue clothes, air calls and other equipment , using RFID tags, RFID readers and other RFID management system equipment,the life cycle of each piece of equipment is managed with detailed reference data from the user's first name and last name, brand, washing, maintenance times, service life, etc., from the beginning of use.


The cleaning center can handle the daily cleaning and maintenance workload of 200 sets of fire-fighting protective clothing, 100 sets of normal clothing, 300 sets of rescue clothing and corresponding gloves, shoes and boots, which will effectively improve the protection and cleaning capabilities of firefighters’ personal protective equipment and the team image, ensuring Occupational health and safety of firefighters.
