Application of RFID Technology Promotes the Warehouse Management Efficiency of Midea's Microwave Oven Factory by 30%

Home appliances are typical discrete industrial products. Their production process is decomposed into multiple independent component tasks. During the process, material storage, transportation, and data of various production equipment require digital transformation to improve the efficiency.

At present, Midea has implemented a number of typical digital projects. For example, in the injection molding workshop, the reporter saw that it has divided an automated storage area, where cameras, 5G networks and large-screen digital signboards are deployed to display real-time personnel entering the factory and production data. etc.

The factory staff said that in the past, it took three days to manually count the goods at the end of the month. Now, each tooling vehicle is equipped with an RFID e-tag. It takes about ten minutes for workers to "walk around", identify the goods with the UHF RFID handheld terminal, and upload the data to the background to realize a one-click scrolling inventory. After the project was launched, the efficiency of warehouse management increased by more than 30%.

RFID-Effective Inventory Management

With the development of the software industry, more and more inventory management software has been developed and applied to the modern industry, which greatly facilitates the production efficiency of modern industry. Then, in seas of management software, what can effectively improve the efficiency of inventory counting? The answer is: RFID technology. Prior to the use of RFID technology, the store's business was carried out through bar codes, including the arrival and departure of goods and the realization of inventory. The company reported that it was time consuming and expensive and caused a lot of counting errors, which is a typical bar code.
